our mission

The Mount Vernon Virtuosi String Quartet is now in its second season. Their main goal is to enrich Baltimore and surrounding communities through classical music. Our fellows will perform in all our regular MVV concerts, teach in Baltimore City public schools and play weekly in the Baltimore and Washington DC areas.

The fellows will teach three times a week for our Every Child Deserves a Voice program which serves KIPP Academy and The Green School, both located in Baltimore. Through this program, kids get the chance to learn classical music. MVV provides instruments, all supplies and materials for the students. This will be our fourth year of the program and it is growing!

In addition to playing recitals, the quartet will do extensive performing in communities that might not otherwise get to experience classical music. They will play in homeless shelters, nursing homes, hospitals, jails and community centers. If you know of an organization that might benefit from a performance by our quartet, please reach out! We are happy to look into forming new partnerships.

MVV String Quartet Fellowships are generously supported by the Howard J. and Katherine W. Aibel Family Fellowship Program.
