Every Child Deserves a Voice

Inspired by the belief that music is essential to every child’s development, Mount Vernon Virtuosi created Every Child Deserves a Voice, an educational outreach initiative made possible through generous donations and grants.

MVV partners with KIPP Harmony Academy and the Green School to offer group string lessons for students in grades K–5. We provide violins, violas, and cellos at no cost for students to use in class, ensuring full access to high-quality music instruction. Sessions are led by MVV String Quartet Fellows and orchestra members—professional teaching artists dedicated to nurturing young musicians. Mount Vernon Virtuosi covers all program expenses, including teaching artist fees, instrument maintenance, and supplies.

At the heart of this initiative is our belief that children should have access to music education regardless of financial circumstances. With continued community support and successful partnerships, we hope to expand the program to serve even more students and engage additional teaching artists in the future.
